Statement of Informed Consent

Statement of Informed Consent
Authors submitting manuscripts to the International Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Incremental Innovation (IJFAII) are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards in research practices relating to fisheries and aquatic systems. By submitting their work, authors affirm that their research has been conducted with integrity and full respect for applicable ethical principles.

Informed consent must be obtained from all human participants involved in research studies. This consent should be based on a clear and thorough explanation of the study’s objectives, methodologies, potential risks and benefits, and the voluntary nature of participation. Participants must be explicitly informed of their right to withdraw from the study at any time without any negative consequences.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that ethical considerations are addressed throughout all stages of the research process—from study design to publication. This includes safeguarding the privacy, rights, and confidentiality of human subjects and ensuring the humane treatment of aquatic animals in experimental settings, in compliance with applicable institutional and national regulations.

In instances where ethical approval from an institutional review board or animal care committee is not required by regulatory guidelines for certain types of fisheries or aquatic research, authors must provide a clear and justified explanation for the exemption. Nonetheless, all other ethical standards must still be met and reported transparently.

The International Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Incremental Innovation reserves the right to request supporting documentation or proof of compliance with these ethical standards at any stage during the manuscript evaluation process. Noncompliance may lead to the rejection of the manuscript or retraction after publication.

By adhering to these ethical principles, authors contribute to the scientific integrity and responsible advancement of innovation in fisheries and aquatic research—supporting the mission of the International Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Incremental Innovation to promote sustainable and ethical scientific practices.
